I have been designing web pages for over ten years. At the beginning of the personal web page boom in the late 1990's, I taught myself the basics of web development and quickly developed an interest in graphic design and advanced coding languages.
While working on figure skating web pages for fun, I came into contact with Brad Miller. Brad eventually became the official web designer for Tara Lipinski, the 1998 Olympic Figure Skating Gold Medalist. Not long after, he asked me to come aboard and help him keep up with the large amount of traffic and updates the site required.
In the midst of this, I was offered a job at a communications firm as a Web Development Intern. I learned a whole new way of doing web sites that made things easier, quicker, and better overall. The importance of organization and documentation was also emphasized, and I emerged from that job with a professional edge to what I had begun myself.
I continued working for Tara Lipinski as well as several other small projects.
I received a Journalism degree from The University of Wisconsin - Madison in 2004. I focused greatly on media effects and marketing, as well as honing my writing talents among some of the best in the business.
All the while, I continued learning new web technologies and realized that it's still something I enjoy doing. Hence the birth of Charisma Web Design.
I have well rounded experience and a general love for a job well done. I'm looking forward to helping you take your business, organization, hobby, or whatever you desire to the next level.
